Since the pandemic began , so much has changed within our own lives. However what has not changed is the love , care and apnapan that our FMP family brings into each others lives.
Few weeks back, in the middle of pandemic, a thought came to some minds that if the world famous MP picnic can not be organized in a park, why cant we do an event in virtual world. And the planning began. Many huddled together to strategize the format of picnic and get to the execution mode. First task was to create the zoom Meeting and get expertise on it.
March 11th 9 PM EST Covid- 19 : Facts & Precautions
We had a very informative call with Dr Rajeshji Kakani. Good 30-35 Friends of MP attended the call for full/ some time. Dr R Kakaniji explained about the virus, answered many of the prepared questions and explained in depth to all queries raised on the call.
Since it is a topic of medical relevance, it may not be possible to share the summary here. He did mention the websites of CDC, WHO and Health Department of each area as authentic sources of information.
We also welcome your feedback for FMPNYNJ on this our first time initiative of conference call on topic of community interest.
March 25th: Holi Hain!!
Hope you are keeping well and safe and maintaining social distance. In light of the health precautions, we are putting off the Holi event scheduled for Sun 5 April at Livingston, NJ
It is very important to introduce our very cheerful hosts Anurag Jain and family who had volunteered to host the event at their home, but also supported the postponement as readily.
Much Thanks also to Dilip Choudhary , the Sootradhar who kept in touch with all possible attendees.
May 18th, 9pm Preparing for the post pandemic world - Individuals and Companies
Friends of MPNYNJ had a very inspiring and informative zoom session with Shri Hiten Patel, Founder/ Chairman, Collabera Group.
Hiten Bhai has his roots from Barwani, MP and now Collabera Group has over 20,000 team members globally with over a Billion US Dollars in revenues. He shared his insights and then answered all questions about the new normal, how companies and people can adapt, virtual working. We had 40+ Participants who stayed all through the 45 minutes, despite a weekday evening.

June 12th, 9 PM: Invite for farewell to out going Counsel General in New York
Shri Sandeep Chakravorty took over as Counsel General of India in New York in Aug 2017. With his unassuming, pleasing personality and great community interactions powered by technology, Sandeep ji lead the efforts of making the Indian Consulate very diaspora friendly.
He always provided great support, encouragement to Friends of MPNYNJ and all our activities. Shri Sandeep ji is completing 3 year term in NYC and returning to India in near future with family
To express our gratitude and best wishes , FMPNYNJ is organising a Zoominar for our members with CG Shri Sandeep ji Chakravorty.. DCG Shri S Sinha ji will also be joining. There are good chances that the incoming CG may be able to join virtually also.
June 18th , 9pm : Farewell to out going Counsel General in New York
In a very human touch with social distance Zoominar on 18 June evening, Friends of MP NYNJ conveyed their heart felt gratitude and appreciation to Outgoing Counsel Gen of India in New York Shri Sandeep ji Chakravorty.
Well attended by over 40+ members, MC Ajit Jain, Krishna Memani, Rakesh Bhargava , Jitendra Muchhal and Sushma Kotahwala shared their warm and glowing personal observations interacting with Shri Sandeep ji and very responsive and friendly Team CGNY on behalf of entire FMPNYNJ.
Sandeep ji shared about his tenure in New York and some deeper insights and his friendly experience earlier with MP and then Friends of MP here. Sandeep ji also introduced the incoming Counsel Gen Shri Randhir Kumar Jaiswal ji, who too joined the Zoom from India and shared his thoughts. Dy Counsel Gen Shri S Sinha ji also gave some ideas for future for Friends of MP NYNJ.
